We moved into our apartment in March and it has been a constant job getting it put together. We absolutely love our location and the space we have, but it's not updated. Our kitchen looks like it's straight out of the 70's and the whole place needs a coat of paint, but we're making due with what we have. Since we moved in all I've wanted is a new sofa, my boyfriend had a hideous white leather love seat that I despise. It's what we've been living with for the past few months until this weekend! I found a great deal on a West Elm sofa on Craig's List and jumped on in immediately. It's not the exact sofa we've been looking at but for $200 we love it! The back cushions are sagging a little and I keep yelling at Daniel every time he puts his arm over them, but it's nothing a little batting can't fix.

From the beginning I said I wanted everything very natural and cozy, but being a designer I have extreme design ADD. I'm so not an orange person but I'm currently leaning towards orange for a pop of color. Our counter tops are a burnt orange laminate and I like the idea of continuing the color through the living room. In 6 months I know I'm going to want something else, but luckily throw pillows aren't expensive to replace.
We're pretty much sold on the gray and orange ikat, Danny even gave it the ok. I think the more pillows the better, so of course I need 4 for the sofa. I'm between the bottom two, I like the idea of mixing straight lines with an organic pattern like an ikat, but I also really love the 3rd option. Danny is probably going to be the deciding factor on this one. I found the ikat on another etsy shop in a lumbar pillow, which we would need for the chair we're planning on gettting.

Here is the other side of our living room, with the hideous leather loveseat. Danny's desk is going to move into our bedroom and my brother is taking the loveseat. Once they're both gone we are going to put a chair and ottoman there. This is the set we're thinking of.
We also are going to need a new coffee table, our current one has been through hell and back. From being in Danny's parent's house the whole time him & his siblings were growing up to being in his college house, and all of his apartments since it's definitely due for an upgrade. We're mildly obsessed with this one from West Elm.
Being that it is $500 we've tried to find something like it, but nothing we've found compares. I love that it can double as a desk when we need it to and since Danny's just started law school it would come in handy. And a little extra storage never hurt anyone. We still have a long way to go but it's slowly coming together.
